the garden after this week's rain
Honeybee in the Lisbon lemon tree
After several days of steady rain everything looks greener at last!
Yesterday I observed this honeybee flying around our LIsbon lemon tree. It was busy sipping nectar from and pollinating the lemon flowers. I had a hard time getting a photo op, because this bee was definitely very busy, so keeping up with its movements was a challenge!
Look at these lovely drops of water left by the rain the previous couple of days. These are leaves of one of our Zinfandel day lily plants. The lily plants are finally looking greener and lusher, recovering from the long dry period.
Baby Lamb's Ears! There a lot of little new shoots springing up. This means a lot of food for our bees next summer, when their little purple flowers bloom.
