Evening bird activity in the garden

Since this was a warm evening I tried to capture some images of bird activity in the garden. We always hear so many birds singing, trilling, and chirping as they catch insects flying around before they settle down for the night.

Above is an Anna's hummingbird sitting on an abutilon branch. They are always busy in the evening catching their protein of mosquitoes and other insects. This particular hummingbird sat on the branch for a while, singing, as it kept an eye out for potential snacks.

Well, hello there!

The huge fig tree is now full of leaves again. Ideal for our feathered friends as well as squirrels. I heard chirping and looked up, to see this bushtit looking right down at me. See its round silhouette with little beak to the center left of the photo.
