The California towhee

The California towhees are frequent visitors to our garden, especially now with the Sunshine blueberries in season.

See how clever the towhee is - it picks a blueberry from the bush and carries it in its beak to the top of the fence. There it sets the berry down on the flat board and then pecks at the berry until it has eaten the whole thing.
