Ivory banded digger male bee waking up on Klondike cosmos

Last week I observed an ivory banded digger male bee sleeping on a prom dress cosmos blossom.
And this morning I observed another ivory banded digger male bee waking up on a Klondike cosmos blossom.
Or is it the same bee?
Maybe it is, and he just likes to sleep on the cosmos blossoms.

Here is a front view of him with his distinctive yellow marking on the lower part of his head.

And here he is from behind.
He is stockier than most bees I've seen in the garden.
