the Lesser Goldfinches

Earlier this summer I started to hear a different kind of bird song, very sweet and cheerful.
It turns out that we have Lesser Goldfinches that are very comfortable around the garden and neighboring trees.
This weekend a pair of finches, one male and one female, visited the backyard bird bath many times, for a drink of water. They look like they may be young birds, just born this year.

Here is the female on the rim of the bird bath, chirping before she has a drink of water.
And here she goes .........a nice sip of water................
