The California towhees
A pair of California towhees spent some quality time around the lambs ears in the morning.
Now that the blooming period is over for many of the plants in the garden, it doesn't look very lush. But the birds always find things to eat.
I'm not sure if they are finding seeds or insects or both, but the towhees are always busy out there.
Above is an image of one of the towhees sitting in a patch of lambs ears.
And here is the other towhee on its way from the lambs ear patch to the wood chip area around the lavatera shrub.
