bees!

This weekend, with the slightly warmer temperatures, and clear skies, a few bees were out and about in the garden. I was so excited to see a honey bee on a lavender whorl, enjoying the nectar of the little blossoms.

A few minutes later I noticed a hoverfly around the Meyer lemon tree.

Here it is sunning itself on a lemon leaf.

Look at those distinctive markings on its abdomen...
