California towhee and the lemon verbena plant

Now that it's Spring and the plants are getting all their foliage back, more birds are exploring plants on the patio.

Here is a California towhee who was very interested in the lemon verbena plant and the soil in the planter. There must have been some insects on the plant for the bird to eat.
