Bees in the native garden

It's so much fun to observe the bees visiting our native plant garden.

In the photo above is a honey bee in one of the Cosmos Cupcake White blossoms (one of our non-native plants). Note the ladybug on the foliage of the stem, at the lower right.

Here is a honey bee on a Gilia Capitata blossom.

The bees are crazy about these blossoms. These plants are annuals, so I hope they reseed for new plants next year.

If you look very carefully you will see a flower fly with its wings fluttering as it climbs on this Sonoma Coast yarrow flower head.

It is on the upper right side.

Nicely camouflaged, isn't it?
