Grasshopper on the apricot cosmos

The apricot cosmos plant is now in bloom.

I thought it never would. All that fern-like foliage that I regularly watered, and no sign of buds.

And then a few days ago, little buds started to appear.

This afternoon as I walked by the plant I noticed this bright green grasshopper on one of the open blossoms. It sat there a long time.

With all of our visiting birds, I wouldn't be surprised if the grasshopper made a nice snack for one of them.
