Bright spots of color on the patio


Here is the first blossom on our Chim Chimenee Black Eyed Susan Rudbeckia hirta plant.

It's so bright and is quite a large blossom, more than 3 inches in diameter.

I've never grown one of these before, and it is another addition to our container plants on the patio. Welcome bees and butterflies!

This blossom is from yet another plant growing from seed spread by one of the cosmos plants we had growing this summer. As you can see in the background, there are more cosmos seedlings sprouting in the same container.
