Honey Bees and the Rosemary Blossoms
Oh how the bees love rosemary blossoms.
Our rosemary plant which is growing in a medium-sized container has been in full bloom for about a month.
When we had constant winter rains for days at a time, the blossoms looked soggy and I thought they would drop.
But with drier weather, the bees are constantly visiting the blossoms for the pollen and nectar.
I've never seen bees with pale pollen in their baskets, but look at this honey bee with all that white pollen.
Lavender and rosemary plants produce pale colored pollen, so I assume that is where this pollen is coming from.
And here is another image of the same honey bee on the rosemary plant, with a closer view of the pale pollen in its baskets.
