Pandora poppies blooming

The Pandora poppies Papaver rhoeas'Pandora' are slowly starting to bloom and adding lovely shades of red to the patio.

They are growing in containers and are much taller and have more foliage than the Pandora poppy plants I planted last year in a garden bed.

These poppies are very interesting plants because each one is one of a kind in regards to the color of blossom they produce. These are cherry colored, while the blossoms we had last year were lighter, speckled with dark pink. Apparently solid colors are less common than speckled and striped variations.

It will be interesting to see what color of blossoms the other Pandora poppy plant will produce.
