Bee visitors in the garden
Other native plants are blooming, and the bees are visiting them.
This is a Cameo Yarrow Achillea millefolium 'Cameo' flower head, with a female sweat bee enjoying the nectar. I haven't spotted any butterflies visiting the yarrow blossoms yet. Hopefully hairstreak and painted lady butterflies will discover the yarrow patch, too.
The ivory banded digger bee is resting on the leaf of a salvia plant.
The plant isn't a California native, but it attracts many kinds of bees and Anna's hummingbirds for its nectar.
