. . . this little Summer Long-Horned male bee was blown off track onto the petal of a California poppy.
It was minding its own business, along with other Summer Long-Horned bees, nectaring on the neighboring Seaside Woolly Sunflower shrub, before it was blown to the poppy.
Otherwise, one wouldn't find these bees on California poppies.
