Just watching the bees

It's been very warm for the past couple of the days.

Accordingly, the California poppies are literally popping up everywhere in the garden.

And where the poppies bloom, you'll see bees.

Here a Yellow-faced bumble bee Bombus vosnesenskii is landing in a California alba poppy.

Look at that orange colored pollen basket!

Another Yellow-faced bumble bee is buzzing the pollen in a California golden poppy.

You can see the pollen flying around inside the poppy, like gold dust.

An Ivory Banded digger bee Anthophora approaches one of the flowering spikes on a Blue Bush Lupine.

It looks like it is losing some of the pollen that it collected.
